Business Expo Set to Profile Waikato’s Thriving Economy

PRESS RELEASE:  Hamilton, Wednesday 10 April, Hamilton. The countdown has begun for the organisers of the inaugural Waikato Business Expo to be held at Claudelands on 11 September 2019.

The one-day event, hosted by the Waikato Chamber of Commerce and organised by Jigsaw Solutions Group, brings together a community of qualified business expertise to help Waikato businesses thrive.

Billed as the expo ’where business gets done’, this event showcases leading edge and forward-thinking businesses, speakers and education.  It is expected to draw interest from local, regional and national organisations with links to the Waikato.

Hosts Waikato Chamber of Commerce CEO Chris Simpson said early interest in exhibiting at the event had reinforced the need for an event of this quality and scale for the region.

“The caliber of exhibitors that have already signed up is fantastic” he said. “The Expo fits well with our vision of providing our members and business community with valuable opportunities to engage their markets.”

With a population bigger than Wellington, Waikato’s economy grew by 7% in 2018 and it is now host to a $30 billion dollar economy. It’s proximity to Auckland’s $100 billion dollar market made it a growing hub for commerce.

Among exhibitors will be a wide-range of commerce providers including IT experts, virtual pa’s, health and safety, finance, recruitment, digital marketing, education, catering, banking and personal and professional service providers. The Expo is for all types of businesses whose target market is B2B.  Additional expo experiences include business-to-business (B2B) networking and workshops offering insights and tips on how to improve and generate growth.

With well-being in the workplace a hot topic in 2019, the Business Expo has announced an award-winning wellbeing specialist, author and entrepreneur as their keynote speaker for their 2019 event.

Hot off the TEDx stage in New York State, founder of the Snack on Exercise movement Lauren Parsons, will speak at the Business Expo’s VIP Breakfast Forum.

Renowned for her practical time-saving approach to making healthy life habits stick, Lauren Parsons will share life-changing ways to thrive in the workplace and super-charge productivity while achieving balance and well-being.  She equips people with tried and tested strategies that work, even for the busiest of executives and teams.

She shares with her clients’ high level strategies and techniques to help them maintain their health, energy and productivity, achieving more with less time.

Her morning keynote on the topic of “Overcoming the Overwhelm – How to thrive in a fast-paced world” will be a showcase event . This will be the first time Parsons has presented in Waikato.  A prominent conference speaker, Lauren travels regularly to present to businesses, helping organisations create a high-energy, peak-performance team culture, which enables people and businesses to thrive.

Last week, representatives from some of Tauranga’s most innovative businesses gathered together at the Business Expo March 2019 Launch Event.  The launch offered Event sponsors, supporters, Early Bird exhibitors and potential exhibitors an opportunity to learn more about the March 2019 Business Expo. BOP Business-to-Business Expo Focuses on Regional Growth Opportunities

The second Bay of Plenty Business Expo is set to become the region’s premier business-to-business event, say the organisers.
The region has been enjoying strong growth. Last year the Bay of Plenty had the country’s largest annual percentage increase in GDP at 9 percent.

Following the success of its inaugural event earlier this year, the Business Expo is looking to grow and to keep innovating for its follow-up Expo on 6th March 2019 at the ASB Baypark Arena, Tauranga, says Sharon Giblett, a director of the event organisers, Jigsaw Solutions Group.

Showcased as “Where business gets done”, the inaugural event is on track to generate more than $1 million in business, and five months on we are still hearing of success stories, new collaborations and business being done, says Giblett.
“And we’re just getting started. We attracted businesses and visitors from across the Bay of Plenty and Waikato, as well as others from throughout the North Island. And we already have bookings coming through from returning exhibitors and a strong flow of enquiries about the next Expo.”

Giblett says there is some uncertainty about the future direction of the economy next year and despite the surge in online marketing, the Expo is proof that face-to-face engagement with potential clients and partners remains one of the strongest ways to build new business,” says Giblett.

The Business Expo has been strategically timed as a regular March event, allowing businesses to get some quick wins to end the financial year and to kickstart opportunities for the year ahead at this supercharged one day event.
“Our goal is to become a key driver and platform for fostering growth in the regional economies and to be a must-attend event in the business calendar.”

The exhibitors will each be able to invite guests, providing a sizeable number of business connections to be made from the wider Bay of Plenty region and beyond.

The 2019 Expo will again be a one-day event held in Tauranga’s best-known business events centre, where businesses can showcase their products and services in a vibrant, fun environment designed specifically for the business-to-business sector.
“Attendees at our inaugural event describe it as a great platform to keep building and developing professional and personal relationships,” says Giblett.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to make new connections and be seen as a regional player,” says Tauranga Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Stan Gregec.

The Business Expo will also feature seminars and master classes throughout the day to motivate and inspire participants. There will be an exclusive VIP Expo Opening event with a special guest and light refreshments to kick the day off, and an Expo After 5 Networking Event for sponsors and exhibitors to continue to build relationships.
