We hope you and your team are bearing up okay under the strange business environment we are all operating in at present. While it may have been an unexpected twist and may have been testing the bounds of your Business Continuity Planning, we know a lot of you will be working through new contingency plans to keep your teams safe, while still being able to carry on your business on a day to day basis. Like you, we are monitoring the COVID-19 situation carefully and following Government guidelines with your safety always our priority. It’s a challenging time but as we keep hearing, we are all in this together.
With more than 5 months until the Waikato Business Expo, we wanted to let you know that our goal is to still run the Waikato Business Expo in September, as long as we have the support of sponsors and exhibitors to make this event a success for everyone. Depending on the timing, it could be just the tonic we all need for face to face contact and reconnecting. We are closely in contact with our suppliers and, if necessary, we will postpone the event until a later date should circumstances dictate that need.
We are about to go into isolation due to an underlying health condition and we stand in solidarity with each of you (even if from a distance and through virtual connections), as we all work our way through the impact of this day today. We know that businesses are hurting already and that there are sleepless nights for many. But we also know that somehow, we will get through and we will come out the other side of this. Some entrepreneurs will even find new opportunities as they navigate the changing landscape, and new businesses will be borne.
One thing is for sure, there is an endpoint to this at some stage, and NZ will come out of this in due course. More than ever, the need for a Business Expo will be crucial as we come out of this and businesses look for a path forward. The Expo will continue to be a great platform for exhibitors and sponsors to showcase their brands and to promote their products and services. And there is the possibility that there will be new ways of doing things, new businesses, new products, new services, new ideas that didn’t even exist prior to COVID-19.
We appreciate that these are trying times and affecting everyone in some shape or form, however, we are a resilient bunch who will get through this and make NZ an even better place.
If you need to talk, please don’t hesitate to reach out, take care, stay safe and Kia Kaha.
